Activities carried out in relation to the care agenda
The Municipal Government of Santiago has invested budget and funding in public policies that seek to improve the quality of life of caregivers, for example through the “Vamos más” program, which seeks to provide mobility and full enjoyment, granting free transportation service through the intermunicipal route developed taking into account the needs of caregivers. The “Cuidamos de ti” (We Take Care of You) program provides monthly financial support that seeks to recognize the caregiving tasks that caregivers perform on a daily basis. In addition, budget is being allocated for the creation of the Comprehensive Care Center, which will consist of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, the Mental Health Clinic, the Directorate for Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, and the General Directorate for Care and Protection of the Elderly, as well as a Municipal Auditorium. This project is currently in the design and strategic planning stage and is expected to begin operations in late 2026 or early 2027.
